Meet the Practitioner
ND, MSOM, RD, MPH
Dr. Cindy Reuter is a Naturopathic Doctor (ND) and Acupuncturist (LAc), with master’s degrees in Oriental Medicine (MSOM) and Public Health (MPH). In her early career she practiced as a registered dietitian (RD), specializing in the nutrition care of families and children with special health care needs.
She graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Clinical Dietetics, then from National College in Portland Oregon in 2001 with her Naturopathic doctorate and Chinese medicine degrees. She did healthcare management MBA coursework at OHSU and holds an MPH from the Dartmouth Institute, with a focus in health care policy and clinical practice.
She recently studied design thinking at the Stanford Design School and has additional training in mindfulness-based stress reduction, mindful eating, hypnotherapy and aromatherapy.
Dr. Reuter has cared for diverse patient populations in private practice and in a hospital-based integrative medicine program, managing diabetes, cancer, chronic pain, and common health problems. She integrates lifestyle changes, evidence-informed supplement choices, nutrition, Chinese Medicine and stress management to maximize wellness.
Her firm belief is that it is not necessary to choose between integrative and conventional medicine, but that it is more important to find a thoughtful way to do both, maximizing the healing options available. She enjoys using the principles of collaborative design to engage everyone – the patient, their family, and the healthcare team - in the process of creating humane and effective healthcare.
Cindy will be joining our Open Door team in the coming months so look for her on the website!
