Jackson Penfield-Cyr - Yoga SparśaTM Structural Integration
Jackson Penfield-Cyr is a native Vermonter and the founder of Yoga SparśaTM Structural Integration - a neurobiology-based bodywork therapy integrating DermoNeuroModulation, Rolfing® Structural Integration, and traditional principles of Yoga. [Yoga means “union” and Sparśa means “touch,” therefore, Yoga Sparśa means “Touch of Unity.”] The mission of Jackson’s bodywork is to invite you into a better relationship with your body. Whether your goal is to relieve pain, resolve trauma, improve posture, and optimize athletic performance, this bodywork offers a transformative educational experience of embodiment and empowerment for people of all ages, abilities, and aspirations, usually within the context of Dr. Ida Rolf’s classic series of ten sessions.
In private sessions, Jackson uses slow, sustained skin contact to invite accurate sensory perception awareness within your body, offering verbal cues for movement and explanations for the work. Hand-holds are intentional, intelligent, responsive, and effective, allowing your nervous system to self-regulate (i.e. release habituated patterns of tension) and to align within its natural integrity.
Yoga SparśaTM Structural Integration is informed by the convergent evidence from fields in neuroscience, like pain physiology, polyvagal theory, and clinical neurodynamics, as well as clinical observations in various manual therapies, traditional principles of Yoga, and Jackson’s own exhaustive self-experimentation.
