What is Somatic Movement?

A somatic movement, generally speaking, is one which is performed consciously with the intention of focusing on the internal experience of the movement rather than the external appearance or result of the movement.

Kate Gamble offers small group classes that focus on moving with ease and the integration of nervous system and bio mechanics. Using principles from Feldenkrais Method, Axis Syllabus, Neuro-developmental therapy, Laban Movement analysis and other somatic practices, we will explore moving from within. 


Classes Focus on the Following:

  • Breath Work
  • Releasing the hips (psoas, hamstrings...)
  • Postural stabilization and fluidity
  • Neck and shoulder alignment and function
  • Easy gait
  • Head and pelvis connection and work
